Help Kedleston Voice Elevate the Campaign to Eric Pickles

As locals we are putting everything we have into protecting our environment and our heritage from developers. At the grass roots we are active however we are all well aware that AVBC is not listening to our concerns. We must now elevate the campaign to national ministers and central government.

Below are some quotes of Eric Pickles (Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government). These declarations, which should help us to protect The Kedleston Estate and national heritage do not seem to resonate at local level. We need to actively engage Eric Pickles and make him aware of this travesty.

‘Britain must remain a “green and pleasant land”, with new housing development instead concentrated on brownfield sites'.

"Trust me - I won't let the bulldozers wreck Middle

England".

"I know Telegraph readers don’t want land grabs and free-for-alls. I understand your concerns. No-one who loves our idyllic and precious English countryside wants to see the sword of Damocles hanging over it. Myself included".

"But putting local planning centre stage, the intention is to let residents, not remote Whitehall officials, decide where the new homes and the new businesses go, and which cherished sites need to be protected".
