Help Kedleston Voice Elevate the Campaign to Brandon Lewis
As locals we are putting everything we have into protecting our environment and our heritage from developers. At the grass roots we are active however we are all well aware that AVBC is not listening to our concerns. We must now elevate the campaign to national ministers and central government.
Below are some quotes of Brandon Lewis (The Planning Minister). These declarations, which should help us to protect The Kedleston Estate and national heritage do not seem to resonate at local level. We need to actively engage Brandon Lewis and make him aware of this travesty.
“We are implementing measures to bring forward up to 200,000 new homes on brownfield land and councils should be using their powers and the support that is
available from the Government to prioritise development on these sites, work with the local community and defend our valuable countryside against urban sprawl.”
"We need to build more homes in this country, but it’s also vital that we protect the countryside that people rightly treasure. That’s why the Government is offering councils a share of £200 million to prioritise development on brownfield land.”
