Supreme Court Update

Dear Kedleston Voice supporter

We asked how the community felt about challenging the Court of Appeal decision in the Supreme Court. Now we know!

We have been deluged with messages of support, pledges of money (we are well on the way to the possible cost of the Permission stage – approx £25,000 but not fixed yet- which we need by Christmas). There have also been a number of questions.

We understand completely the reasons for these questions and we will be giving more information here as soon as the way forward is clear. We are also planning information events to explain the process and requirements but cannot yet be specific about the money needed or timescales for the full appeal. There are a few things still to sort out.

However, following your amazing pledges of support and to comply with the deadlines set by the court, we can confirm that an application for permission to appeal has been submitted. This first application was made the Court of Appeal, as it is their decision being appealed. The application may then be made directly at the Supreme Court, if necessary.

We write now to thank you for your clear messages of support and for giving us the impetus we need to continue. This cannot work without you.
